Who We Serve
Volunteers of America of Florida provides Training, Education and Employment Services to prepare individuals to secure
gainful employment.  The goal is to help participants learn job readiness skills and/or become certified in marketable training
courses in order to rebuild and restructure their lives. 

Individuals served include program residents or persons in the community who are in need of employment services.

Services
Frequently, a student needs job readiness services to prepare them for employment.  The agency utilizes training modules
which offer guidance in developing social skills such as what to say or wear on an interview, as well as computer skills,
resume writing, filling out applications, applying online for employment and developing job leads and referrals.

Life Long Learning Center of Volunteers of America of Florida
The Life Long Learning Center of Volunteers of America of Florida is a private, non-profit postsecondary institution that is
governed by its Board.  In addition, the Center relies on guidance from national and state advisory committees to provide
industry-standard and professional training to address the needs of business, industry and the community.

Volunteers of America of Florida operates Life Long Learning Centers to
assist individuals with necessary training, to increase their success rate and move them toward economic self-sufficiency. 

The academic programs offered are provisionally licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida
Department of Education.

The training curriculum is comprised of short term technical training under the highest industry standards and currently
works with industry leaders such as Porter Paints and Associated Builders and Contractors. 

This combination of training and supportive services helps participants achieve and maintain employment.  Volunteers of
America of Florida also partners with Vocational Rehabilitation, Homeless Veterans Reintegration Project, Ticket to Work
and other community agencies to help individuals return to work.
