Volunteers of America of Florida provides new safe, affordable housing opportunities to seniors, families and people with
disabilities. By creating new housing communities and preserving existing affordable properties, the agency’s goal is to help
assist the persons we serve who are unable to afford a decent and affordable place to call home.
NEWS AT A GLANCE
- Currently we are adding new property locations and resources to transform more lives and help people achieve
their full potential in Lake City, Pensacola and Punta Gorda.
- Volunteers of America of Florida is on the agenda at the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community
Initiatives annual conference. We will be a presenter at the conference highlighting our partnership with the
Florida Department of Children and Families, how our three service lines collaborate and our progress using
the outcomes approach.

Our annual fundraising event is held each year in November and falls close to Veterans Day.
Each year the night’s festivities include dining, a silent auction and dancing. In 2008 we will hold our 7th annual
fundraising event, details to follow.
Coming this spring, details to follow:
- A ribbon cutting ceremony for one of the agency’s latest projects currently under construction; the Lake City Veterans
Transitional Housing Program. The public will be welcome to attend.
- A ribbon cutting ceremony for our new Punta Gorda Veterans Housing Program. The public will be welcome to attend.
