Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild
their lives and reach their full potential. The agency started with a vision and a promise to “go wherever we are needed
and do whatever comes to hand.” Since 1896, our ministry of service has supported and empowered America's most
vulnerable groups, including the frail elderly, homeless individuals and families, people with disabilities, and those
recovering from addictions. Our work touches the mind, body, heart — and ultimately the spirit — of those we serve,
integrating our deep compassion with highly effective programs and services.
Since the 1920’s Volunteers of America has been in the state of Florida. Since the 90’s Volunteers of America of
Florida has initiated service in Florida in 15 locations and is currently continuing to expand programs in several
new locations.
Last year, we served 4,700 persons throughout the state of Florida from Pensacola in the northwest to Key West in
the southeast.
